doyou haiku || Elly MacKay

misty memories,
found or have yet to happen,
illuminated

on that small hilltop on the mountains, their lives were intertwined

side by side

the navigators

until the lion roared...
miriam's dollhouse

there couldn't be a kinder creature

twisted leaves

flowers leave

Elly McKay's process photos

Elly MacKay has been a long time favorite and inspiration, not only to myself but to my former students as well. All at once she is a story teller, illustrator, sculptor, photographer and scenic artist. Ms. MacKay is from Canada and creates her miniature "Theatre in the Clouds" into mysterious and ethereal images from painted paper and clever lighting. Many of her photographs are available in her shop and her books can be found here.

doyou haiku|| is a feature series of contemporary artists that I find inspiring. haiku forces me to boil my thoughts down to some essentials and still allow the work to speak for itself.
