chicago teacher pride swag store (preview)

in 2012 i designed a logo inspired by the Chicago Teacher's Union strike. i made myself a tshirt and had buttons made for my coworker and a then some for any one else at the rallies (suggested donation $1).
unfortunately, teachers and the board are having trouble again negotiating the new terms of a contract. as of late, it's not looking promising.   this is all happening while they renege on other promises.

though i no longer work for CPS, i still work in CPS schools. i still feel strongly about the unjust practices of the board and feel proud that the CTU has stood up to them. it echoed across the country in 2012 as more and more teacher & parent groups mobilized to advocate for better schools.

and, the logo design is still good!

but, i'm nearly ready to start promoting a new store where anyone can purchase tees, buttons and a few other items. i feel a little bad trying to capitalize on a bad situation, but i think the logo is timeless and can come in handy at any point ("red fridays" for example) and i'd feel like i'm helping people feel more empowered about their cause.

i've ordered a few samples to make sure the quality is good enough to sell. once i get those, i'll either fix things or officially announce the store's "grand opening." no link yet, though all the clues are here if you want to search for it yourself. as of today, i can't vouch for the the print quality but will update as soon as i know!
